Converting to WAV is not a quality upgrade, and any tool that suggests otherwise is wrong: the information an MP3 encoder threw away is gone, and wrapping the result in a larger container does not bring it back. What WAV does give you is a file that stops losing anything further.
That matters when the file is an input rather than an output — an editor that re-encodes on every save, a sampler or game engine that only reads PCM, a transcription or analysis tool that expects WAV. Use 16-bit for general compatibility; 24-bit only when the file is heading into an editing chain that wants the extra headroom.

Does converting to WAV improve the quality?
No. A WAV made from an MP3 contains exactly what the MP3 contained, stored uncompressed. Nothing is restored. The benefit is that further editing and saving adds no new loss.
How much larger will the WAV be?
About ten times a 192 kbps MP3 at 16-bit, and half again as much at 24-bit. Uncompressed stereo at 44.1 kHz is roughly 10 MB per minute.
Which bit depth should I choose?
16-bit unless something downstream specifically asks for more. It is CD quality, it is what every player and editor reads, and it produces a smaller file.
Is the sample rate changed?
No. The source sample rate is preserved — a 44.1 kHz MP3 produces a 44.1 kHz WAV.
Is my file uploaded?
No. Decoding happens inside your browser and no copy of the file is transmitted.
