Most of the time "splitting" a PDF means taking a few pages out of a long one: the invoice from a statement, one chapter from a report, the two pages of a form that actually need signing. Typing the range you want is faster than any drag-and-drop page grid, and it is the same notation every print dialog already uses.
The extracted pages keep their original size, orientation and content, because they are copied rather than redrawn. A page of small print stays sharp and selectable in the new file.

Frequently asked questions
How do I write the page range?
Use page numbers and ranges separated by commas, like 1-3, 7, 10-12. Spaces are ignored and a reversed range such as 7-3 is read the sensible way round.
Can I get one file per page?
Not in a single run. This tool produces one new document per split, so extracting three separate pages into three separate files means running it three times, once per page number.
Does splitting change the pages?
No. The selected pages are copied into the new document exactly as they are, keeping their size, orientation, text layer and images.
Is the document uploaded?
No. The split runs inside your browser and nothing is transmitted. This is the reason it is safe to use on statements, contracts and medical letters.
What if the range does not match any page?
The tool says so rather than producing an empty file. Check the numbers — pages are counted from 1, and a range beyond the end of the document is ignored.
