Short answer
A video can be rotated in a browser by 90 degrees clockwise or counter-clockwise, by 180 degrees, or mirrored horizontally or vertically. Unlike changing the rotation metadata flag, this rewrites the actual pixel data, so the correct orientation is preserved in every player and on every platform.

Sideways video usually happens because a phone recorded in one orientation and wrote a rotation flag that some players honour and others ignore. Editing the flag alone is unreliable — the video will still appear rotated somewhere.
This tool physically rotates the frames, which means the fix survives re-uploads, conversions and stubborn players. The audio track is copied across unchanged.
How to use it
- 1
Add the video
Drop in the file that is oriented wrongly.
- 2
Choose the rotation
Pick 90° in either direction, 180°, or a horizontal or vertical mirror.
- 3
Start
The frames are rotated and re-encoded; the audio is copied untouched.
- 4
Download
Save the corrected MP4.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my video still look sideways after uploading it somewhere?
Because the platform ignored the file's rotation metadata. Rotating the pixels themselves, as this tool does, avoids the problem entirely.
Does rotating reduce quality?
The video is re-encoded, so there is a small generational loss. It is not visible at normal viewing distance.
What is the difference between rotating 180° and flipping vertically?
A 180° rotation turns the image upside down while keeping left and right in place. A vertical flip mirrors the image, so text reads backwards.
Is the audio affected?
No. The audio track is copied across without re-encoding and stays in sync.
